Sir Ian Botham OBE
Sir Ian Botham OBE is a former England Test cricketer and Test team captain, and current cricket commentator. He was a genuine all-rounder with 14 centuries and 383 wickets in Test cricket, and remains well-known by his nickname “Beefy”.[1] While a controversial player both on and off the field at times, Botham also held a number of Test cricket records, and still holds the record for the highest number of wickets taken by an England bowler.
He is generally regarded as being England’s greatest ever all-rounder, particularly in Test cricket, although having earned celebrity status, his award of a knighthood was ostensibly in recognition of his services to charity.[2]
Lady Elizabeth Kitson DL
Lady Elizabeth as well as being a much admired and successfull artist and sculptress is also the wife of one of Britains most senior soldiers. Although her husband has now retired, their many years of marriage has given her a unique insight into both the needs and personality of the British Soldier. she is a kind and generous supporter of our cause and we believe that we are very fortunate to have someone of her stature on board to support us.
Bernard Cribbins OBE
Celebrated author, and much loved actor, comedian and broadcaster. Bernard is an avid fly fisherman, as well as being a veteran himself. His enthusiastic support for the charity shames many who are much youger at least in years. We are proud to have him, his experience and zest for life on board. Bernard has just been awarded the CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2011.

Honorary President and Co Founder Capt. Anthony D. Spacey
Tony is the CEO of The Littleover Group. After a successful military career he is now a well known and successful businessman in both the food and leisure industries. He now spends 40% of his working life devoted to the charity and in fundraising for us. In his spare time he is also a passionate fly fisherman and game shot and takes every oportunity to fish or he can be found working his beloved pointers on the game shoots of England. He is a former pupil of Tom Hill’s and the Co Founder of Fishing for Heroes. The only ambition he has left is that there should never be a service man or woman who can see no way forward other than to take their own life
Tom is the proprietor of the Devon and UK school of fly fishing, he is also a co founder of the charity.
His time is spent between teaching veterans, guiding private clients and chasing the native brown trout in the rivers of his native Devon.
Chair of Trustees Claire Zambuni
Claire’s business, The Shooting Society creates bespoke events with a country pursuits theme and works with high end brands to help integrate them into the country sector. Claire’s girls shooting club, The Covert Girls, featured widely in the press, is a growing phenomenon as more women take up the sport. Claire is a columnist in the Shooting Gazette and Shooting and Conservation as well as writing for other publications on country matters. She is a BASC (British Association of Shooting and Conservation) council member and Chairman of the London BASC Social Committee as well as a member of the Worshipful Company of Gun makers. Claire took up fly fishing several years ago although her eagerness far outweighs her ability. She is however passionate in her support of Fishing for Heroes
Sylwia is the Managing Director of Littleover Apiaries (part of The Littleover Group). She is a very successful businesswoman specialising in finance and HR. She has a master’s degree in marketing from the University of Warsaw, Poland.
She also works closely with Tony and has a position on the board of The Littleover Group. Tony says she is his right hand man who he relies on daily to keep him going.
Neville is a partner in Hall Davies Insurance Brokers and a Director of Hall Davis Ltd, who are a leading firm of independent financial advisers. Neville already works hard on behalf of several charities and is pleased to be able to bring his expertise to FFH. His fellow trustees hope to make him a fly fisherman too.
Ken Brewster
Ken is Sales and Marketing Director of Hardys from Alnwick in Northumberland. He first met up with Tony at the CLA Game Fair in 2010, which resulted in Hardys becomming a major supporter of the charity. Hardys have been instrumental in the care and rehabilitation of some of the most seriously injured men from the Iraq and Afganistan campaigns and via Ken are an integral part of what FFH is trying to achieve.
Chris was a police officer for 33 years and retired in 2008, since then he has added to his pension by starting an instructional business, giving fly tying lessons as well as supplying custom tied flies to his clients. Chris is chairman of the Surrey branch of the fly dressers guild and on the committee of the main guild. He is also a fanatical fisherman spending around 100 days a year on the water both at home and abroad. Chris has been tying flies for about 20 years now, first getting serious about it when he was asked to tie 48 dozen Black Bear salmon doubles for Fulling Mill to complete a rush order. Since then he has tied at shows in Holland, Sweden,Germany, Italy, Denmark, the United States and of course the British Fly fair. This last show brought him into contact with the charity and he has supported us ever since, becoming a trustee in 2011.
Charlotte is best known for her column ‘Wild Life’ in The Field magazine,
for which she also writes monthly features. As a freelance writer she has
contributed to numerous national magazines and newpapers over the years.
She is a full time comedy writer for TV and radio, an after-dinner
speaker and reluctant stand-up. She is currently writing a book.
