What We Are Doing Now
At the present time we are teaching fly fishing to so many veterans and service men and women that our courses and get togethers are being held on an almost weekly basis and we are on target to deliver well over 300 days of instruction this year. We also teach fly tying skills both as a therapeutic measure and to increase the level of understanding and enjoyment that these pastimes can offer.
Fishing for Heroes believes that in order to make significant changes to people’s lives, there has to be on going support. For this reason, this year, almost every week will see a get together hosted somewhere across the country, which means that people can not only attend an event locally on a regular basis but also have the opportunity to travel to other venues, fishing and meeting up with friends whom they have met through Fishing for Heroes.
We are sometimes asked why we don’t publish photographs of the events which we hold. Everyone involved with Fishing for Heroes is part of that family, we do not publish or promote photographs of people taking part for public perusal, possibly identifying them as people who are suffering with PTSD.
